Basel. Mobility is a very emotional topic in Basel! Public space is used by many—from cars and buses to bicycles and kids’ scooters. Starting today, this competition will be resolved at the mobility hub on Eisenbahnweg. This central location brings together all mobility options, which can be seamlessly combined: from car-sharing to electric cars, bicycles, and e-scooters. Parcandi is participating by providing shared parking spaces and charging stations for electric vehicles.
“Mobility hubs make it easy to switch modes of transportation: from car to bike, from e-scooter to tram, or on foot to a car-sharing vehicle. We at Parcandi support this initiative because it allows us to work together to better design public spaces for the benefit of everyone,” said Corsin Sulser.
Parcandi offers flexible parking options near the Tinguely Museum for Basel residents and visitors. With Parcandi, you can reserve a parking spot online at no cost, use it for an unlimited amount of time, and even charge your car while you’re there. Corsin Sulser: “More parking options, less stress, more space for everyone.”
For owners of vacant parking spaces, Mobility Hubs offer a simple way to make their spaces available on a flexible, day-by-day basis through Parcandi. This creates a win-win situation: The owner earns additional income, while the city benefits from less traffic caused by drivers searching for parking and more space on the streets.
The project on Eisenbahnweg is a flagship initiative—not as a standalone measure, but as a starting point. The vision: By the end of 2026, up to ten interconnected mobility hubs will be created in Basel, bringing the principle of “connecting instead of clogging” to life. Because the future of the city isn’t just faster—it’s, above all, more interconnected and better organized.
Under the umbrella of “Basel unterwegs,” a mobility system is gradually taking shape that is easier to use, offers greater freedom, and enhances the urban environment—in collaboration with the people who use it every day.
